July 2011

Pastor’s Notes

Hello!

The beginning of July brings us to a time when we reflect on the freedoms we can easily take for granted in this country. It’s good to reflect on them from time to time.

I’m thoughtful right now of our freedom of religion. In so many places in this world today, people who follow Jesus must do so in secret. If they are caught they risk being tortured or killed.

I’m thankful that we can share in Christian discipleship freely in our land. Let’s take full advantage of this freedom by continuing our participation in church activities and inviting our family, friends, and neighbors to join with us.

Thank you for your continued support of The Power House. Your trust and faithfulness are a blessing to this community.

In Christ,

Pastor Jeff Anderson

July’s Topics

For much of the summer we’ll be focusing on topics from the last chapter of Ephesians:

7/3 Justice
7/10 Camp --- Kids’ Church Closed
7/17 Peace
7/24 Faith
7/31 God’s Special Creation

Be sure to ask you kids about these stories and see the crafts they’ll be making each week.

Important Schedule Change

Please note ---- due to our Kids’ Church staff serving in this summer’s camping program, there will be

NO KIDS’ CHURCH on Sunday, July 10.

We realize that this is an inconvenience and thank you for your understanding. We will be open all other Sundays throughout the summer _______________________________________

Bible School

Mark your calendars and spread the word! Bible School is August 16 – 19 from 10:00 a.m. to Noon at The Power House. This is a real highlight for the summer. Activities are for kids at least 4 years old but not older than 5th grade. Admission is FREE! Be sure to plan on attending and bring your friends neighbors with you!
