February 2010

Pastor’s Notes

Hello!

This year is off to a great start at Kids’ Church. Thank you for letting your kids be a part of what is happening.

I want to extend a special thanks, too, to those of you who have helped your kids bring friends to church with them. We’ve seen a lot of new faces this month and look forward to a growing participation in kids’ activities.

We have many special events for the whole family in the upcoming months. You’ll note information about the “Big Game” party and the Health Fair in the next column. Be watching in future issues for information about Easter activities, the church’s 15th anniversary celebration, and summer youth camp. You won’t want to miss out on any of these events.

Thank you again for trusting us in helping you with your child’s spiritual development. It is truly an honor and a privilege to serve your family in this way.

In Christ,

Pastor Jeff Anderson

February Topics

In February we’ll be learning from the Bible books of Judges, Ruth, and 1 Samuel. The people we will be learning about each week are:

2/7 Sampson
2/14 Ruth (Part 1)
2/21 Ruth (Part 2)
2/28 King Saul

Be sure to ask you kids about these stories and see the crafts they’ll be making each week.

Big Game Party

Football’s biggest game is on Sunday, February 7, at 6:00 p.m. Once again this year, The Power House will be providing a “family friendly” atmosphere for the event. Come see the Big Game projected on the wall inside the church. The screen size will be nearly 20 feet tall! We’ll have snacks for sale at very reasonable prices with all monies going to help send kids to camp next summer. Children must be accompanied by an adult for this event so bring the whole family and enjoy the game together!

Health Fair

Mark your calendars! The Power House will host the University of Maryland School of Nursing Community Health Fair on Sunday, March 7. This event is for the whole family and will be from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. We’ll have screenings, health information, and activities for all ages. Don’t miss out on this!
